Miriam S. Beyman of Redding Connecticut died peacefully November 13, 2018 at age 93.
Born June 27, 1925 as Miriam Simon, an identical twin of Roslyn who predeceased her, Miriam was married for 67 years to Bernard Beyman who passed in 2013. She is survived by her younger brother Seymour (Spouse Liz), her children Jon Beyman of Norwalk and Rip Beyman of Wilton, their wives Susan and Michelle and by her loving grandchildren Michael (Spouse Josh), Daniel, Max, Silas and Ruby.
From 1964, Miriam was a longtime resident of Norwalk Connecticut where she was the owner and proprietor of the Miriam Beyman Agency, a successful real estate agency she ran for several years. She twice served as a president of the Norwalk Board of Realtors, was on the Norwalk Redevelopment Agency during the redevelopment of South Norwalk in the 1970’s and was several times named as Norwalk’s Realtor of the Year.
Miriam adored people, her working career, word games and reading. She especially enjoyed helping to raise and watch her grandchildren, her nieces and nephews and their own children and grandchildren grow into adults. She retained throughout her life a keen mind and a rapier wit. She was the keystone for her extended family of friends and loved ones, spanning generations and staying in touch with all of them. She will be sorely missed and remembered with much love.
Services will be held at Temple Shalom, 259 Richards Avenue, Norwalk, Connecticut on Thursday, November 15th at 1:30pm. Burial will follow at the Temple Shalom Cemetery on Richards Avenue. In lieu of flowers, contributions to The Domestic Violence Crisis Center of Norwalk or a favorite charity in her honor would be appreciated.
