Helen J. (Chad) Kiska
Helen J. Kiska, 94, of Norwalk, CT passed away peacefully on Friday, July 20th at Notre Dame Health & Rehab. Born on May 27, 1924 in New Canaan, CT, she was the daughter of the late John Chad and Pauline Pajer Chad.
Helen was predeceased by her devoted husband of 62 years, Thomas P. Kiska, in March 2011. Helen is survived by her sister Agnes Cloud. She is also survived by her children Charlotte (Pat, Al) Bifano and Dianne (Don) Eleck of Norwalk, CT, Ann Huminski of Bethel, CT, Tom (Maddy) Kiska of Wilton, CT, Karen Levasseur of Mesa, AZ, Paula (Sal) Manzi of Chandler, AZ and Jeff (Deb) Kiska of Murphy, NC. She was predeceased by her sister, Pauline Kozakiewicz; brother, John Chad; first husband, Louis Czako and son-in-law, Ron Levasseur. She will be sadly missed by her 16 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and her 2 great-great-grandaughters, their families and several nieces and nephews.
Helen moved to Norwalk in 1948 when she married Tom and where they raised their family. In 1991 they retired to Hendersonville, NC where Helen and Tom enjoyed new friends and long drives throughout the southeastern countryside. They returned to CT in 2003. Helen was active in the Norfield Grange (CT) and the Edneyville Grange (NC). She loved crocheting and was an avid gardener and bird enthusiast. She especially enjoyed sharing her many perennials with family and friends.
Friends may call Thursday, July 26th from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:15am, Friday in the chapel at Notre Dame Health and Rehab, 76 West Rocks Rd, Norwalk. (Family and friends will meet directly at Notre Dame). Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, 223 Richards Avenue, Norwalk. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to NDHR-SSTV Capital Improvement Fund.
