Mary Spillane McIntosh, 80, of Norwalk, wife of the late David McIntosh, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 20, 2018.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, on September 26, 1937, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna Brennan Spillane. Upon moving to Connecticut after her marriage, she began a thirty year career with Dooney & Bourke, starting as a file clerk and working her way up to payroll manager. Mary was also actively involved in Al-Anon and had a profound impact on others through her many volunteer roles in the organization. Mary liked to travel and was particularly excited about her trip to Ireland where she had the opportunity to learn more about her Irish family heritage. Her greatest enjoyment, however, was spending time with family and her passing is a tremendous loss to all who loved her.
Mary is survived by her two daughters Heather Grew and her husband Nick of Trumbull and Valerie McElaney and her husband Philip of Norwalk, and by her son Dave McIntosh and his wife Theresa of Fairfield. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Caroline and Nicholas Grew, Colleen, Kathleen, and Ryan McElaney and Maeghan, Tess, and Peyton McIntosh. In addition, Mary was one of eight children and will be truly missed by her surviving siblings, her brother Tommy Spillane and his wife Barbara, her sister Jane Perretti, and her many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church 203 East Avenue, Norwalk. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, 223 Richards Avenue Norwalk.
