Karen Condron

Karen Condron, age 73, passed away peacefully at her home in Wilton, CT on Saturday, July 14, 2018. She fought a long and courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease).

Karen was preceded in death by her sons, Michael Shae Condron and Scott Michael Condron. She is survived by her husband, James L. Condron, her children, James Condron Jr., Sean Condron, Kimberly Harmsen, Greg Condron, and Mark Condron. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Claire, Josh, and Jack Harmsen, and Meilee and Kaylee Condron, and by her sister Diane Reilly.

Born February 4, 1945 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Albert and Jean Muller, Karen was a graduate of Hofstra University where she received a degree in Biology on a full scholarship for violin in 1966.  In July of 1968, Karen married James L. Condron and moved to Long Island, NY before settling in Wilton, CT in 1978.

As Karen was raising her large active family with her husband, she also enjoyed a remarkable career of over three decades as a successful entrepreneur. Karen was the President and Sales Director of Concord Industries, and later the Sales Director of Sharp Performance USA. She was also a devoted member of her church, Our Lady of Fatima, and a respected board member of the Norwalk Chamber of Commerce.

In addition, Karen was also a watercolorist. She exhibited her paintings in a variety of venues including the Norwalk Arts Festival, the Stratford Arts Guild Festival, and the Arts Festival at the Bruce Museum in Greenwich.  Karen donated many paintings silent auctions benefiting ALS Research, the American Cancer Society, Muscular Dystrophy Association, the Norwalk Chamber of Commerce, and several other organizations.

Karen will be remembered for her discipline, devotion, and for her love of life.

A wake is scheduled for Thursday, July 19, 2018, 5-8pm at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Ave, Norwalk, CT, 06851. A funeral will be held Friday, July 20, 2018, 11am at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 229 Danbury Road, Wilton, CT 06897.  Burial will immediately follow mass at Hillside Cemetery, Wilton, CT.
