James J. Pellegrino Sr., 86, husband of Charlotte Cook Pellegrino of Norwalk passed away Friday, November 25, 2016 at the Stamford Hospital.
Born May 12, 1930 in Norwalk, he was the son of the late Basil and Maria Amato Pellegrino.
Mr. Pellegrino was a life-long Norwalk resident who served in the Navy and was active during the Korean War. He later owned and operated a heating and air-conditioning business in East Norwalk. He loved to work hard, but loved his family even more. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and his one-year-old great-grandson.
In addition to his wife Charlotte, he is survived by his four children; Lisa Caruso and her husband Louis, Jane Santopadre, James Jr. and his wife Jeanne, JoAnn Somma and her husband Todd. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren Samantha (Thomas), Danielle, Rocky, Amanda, Cassidy, Jake, Joseph, Charlotte and James III; by his great grandson Michael James and by many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 4:00-8:00 PM at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 AM in St. Jerome Church, 23 Half Mile Road, Norwalk. Interment with full military honors will follow in St. John Cemetery, 223 Richards Avenue, Norwalk.
