Manuel Perry, Jr.

Manuel Perry, Jr. 85, passed away peacefully at his home in Norwalk, CT on Monday, October 31, 2016.

Manuel Perry, Jr. was born on December 28, 1930 in Norwalk, CT.  He was the son of Manuel Perry, Sr. and Florence Miller.

Manuel attended Norwalk High School and immediately after graduating, he enlisted with the United States Navy where he completed the Aircraft Engines, Aircraft Fuels Systems and Flight Engineering course.

He proudly served on the USS Leyte (CV32) and he was awarded Combat Aircrew Wings for Arial combat over Korea.  He was honorably discharged as an Aviation Machinist Mate Second Class in 1957. He later retired from Hilti Corporation.   Manuel was also very active and supportive in the disabled veteran community following his retirement.

Manuel is survived by his loving wife, Dinora Perry, his daughters, Joan Stewart, Dolores Malin, Maria Borges-Lopez and his son, Alberto Borges. He is also survived by his sister, Ollie Perry, and his brothers Samuel, Richard and General Perry as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Manuel is predeceased by his parents, Manuel Perry, Sr. and Florence Miller, his sisters, Florence Miller and Lillian Perry and his brothers, Harold and Edward Perry.

Family and friends are welcome on Thursday, November 3rd from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk.  A Christian service  will be celebrated at Collins Funeral Home on Friday, November 4, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. Entombment with full military honors will follow at Willow Brook Cemetery, 395 North Main Street, Westport.
