Rose Festa Izzo, 83, of Norwalk, died Thursday, January 28, 2016 in Norwalk Hospital. She was the wife of the late Joseph Izzo.
Born in Norwalk, August 27, 1932, daughter of the late Joseph and Jennie Festa, Mrs. Izzo had been a secretary with the former Merchants Bank. Rose was an active member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish. She volunteered at the church’s Second Chance Thrift Shop and was a member of the parish choir. Rose also sang in St. Joseph’s choir, prior to joining St. Thomas Parish. She had a passion for singing, baking and tag sales: Rose was famous for her Christmas cookies.
Survivors include a daughter; Vanessa Jacques, two sisters; Annette Festa and Catherine Verda and Catherine’s husband, James, a granddaughter; Reagan, many family members and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, February 1st, at 10:00 A. M. in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 203 East Avenue. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery.
Friends may call Sunday, January 31st, at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, from 3:00 to 6:00 P. M.
