Maria R. Florio, 101, wife of the late Ernesto Florio, died Sunday, January 24, 2016 at her home in Norwalk.
Born September 8, 1914 in Italy, she was the daughter of the late Giovanni Mattera and Clorinda DiMeglio Mattera.
Mrs. Florio is survived by 5 children: daughter Rosa Morgera, and sons John Florio (Eleanor), Philip Florio (Patricia), Salvatore Florio (Mary) and Joseph Florio (Robin). She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by daughter Clorinda and son Giacomo and by grandchildren Ernesto Florio and Maria R. Florio.
Friends may call on Wednesday, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue Norwalk. Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00 AM in St. Philip Church, Norwalk, CT. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery, Norwalk, CT.
