Carl A. Yarnold

Born in Haverhill, New Hampshire in 1947, “Cappy” grew up in Darien where he graduated from Darien High School in 1965. “Cappy” enlisted in the Navy and was assigned to the aircraft carrier, USS Essex. He retired from Southern New England Telephone in 1994 after 25 years of service.

Besides his wife Patti, he is survived by his two beloved children, Kate and her husband Tom Hostetler; and son, Todd and his wife Jennifer. Also leaving behind his adorable grandson, Shane Hostetler, who Cappy called “Shanie Gray” as well as two step grandsons, Azam and Aaron. Also, his sister, Carole and her husband, Mike, of Roseville, California, a brother, Richard of Monterey, California, and a step-sister Susan Dilloway of Colorado Springs, CO. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Barbara and Kenneth Yarnold of Darien, CT and Rosarito, Mexico. Cappy was also very fond of his Ischoda Yacht Club buddies especially Ricky Shand, who was a big help to the family.

Cappy took pride in his home and loved doing projects, especially “mowing the lawn”. He was a dedicated dad and loving husband of almost 46 years. Cappy and Patti loved traveling to the Caribbean and especially to Cape Cod.

Friends are invited to a memorial visitation from 10:00 – 12:00 on Saturday, December 1st at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk.
