Richard A. Hodge

Richard A. Hodge, 82, husband of Patricia C. Hodge of South Salem, NY passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on July 4th.  Born on November 23, 1935 in Norwalk, CT he was the son of the late Joseph and Hazel Hess Hodge.
Mr. Hodge attended Norwalk High School and served in the U.S. Navy.  He later worked as a sheet metal worker for Sheet Metal Workers Union #39.  He was a past member of the Board of Governors and Lifetime Member of the South Norwalk Boat Club.
Mr. Hodge was an avid hunter, fisherman, enjoyed making wine, camping, and boating. He was also a NY Giants fan and took pleasure in watching sports.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter Laura and her husband Robert of Stratford, CT, his son Richard Hodge, Jr. and his wife Beverly of Bethel, CT and his daughter Suanne Ritchey and her husband Thomas of Brewster, NY.  He was the cherished grandfather of his five grandchildren, Thomas Ritchey, Jr, Richard Hodge, III, Matthew Ritchey, Steven Czel, and Lauren Hodge.

He is also survived by his sister Kathleen Wald of Torrington, CT., William Hodge of Jensen Beach, FL, Delores Ready of Brookfield, CT, Lorine Hodge of Brookfield, CT and Joseph Hodge, Fruitland Park, FL, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the South Norwalk Boat Club Scholarship Fund, 17 Mack St., South Norwalk, CT  06854 or the Whittingham Cancer Center, 34 Maple Street, Norwalk, CT  06856.

Friends may call on Sunday, July 8th from 11:00am -2:30pm at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk, there will be a brief service in the funeral home at 2:30pm.
