Bernard (Ben) J. Scalisi Sr. passed away on Monday, January 29, 2018 at Autumn Lakes in Norwalk, Connecticut. He was 96 years old.
Ben was born on November 28, 1921 in New York, New York. He was the son of the late Mariano and Antonia Ribaudo Scalisi.
Ben was a World War II Army Veteran. He was employed at C. R. Gibson Company in New York City and Norwalk, Connecticut for 47 years. Ben was a member of St. Philip Church in Norwalk, Connecticut, where he was an usher for many years. Ben loved sports and was an avid New York Mets and New York Jets fan.
Survivors include his daughter Ann Scalisi Michaelis of Middletown, Connecticut, his daughter Maria Guimond and her husband Gerard of Norwalk, Connecticut, his son Thomas Scalisi and his wife Ellen of Woodland Hills, California and his son Bernard Scalisi Jr. of Norwalk, Connecticut. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Nicole Guimond of Norwalk, Connecticut, Geoffrey Guimond of Carbondale, Colorado, Christina Scalisi and Christopher Scalisi of Woodland Hills, California, and one great-grandson Edan Guimond of Carbondale, Colorado. Ben was predeceased by his wife Barbara Stevenson Scalisi who died on October 4, 2012. He was also predeceased by his brothers, John, Anthony and Christopher Scalisi, and sister Lena Esposito and also his son-in-law Dr. Jonathan Michaelis.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 9:00-10:00 AM in the vestibule of St. Philip Church, 1 Father Conlon Place, Norwalk, Connecticut. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following at 10 AM. Burial will be at St. John Cemetery, 223 Richards Avenue, Norwalk, Connecticut, immediately following. Arrangements are in the care of Collins Funeral Home.
