Rosa Maria Curcio Pietrantuono, a long-time resident of Norwalk, CT, born July 17, 1927 passed away peacefully on March 21, 2016. Rosa was predeceased by her husband, Claudio Pietrantuono. She is survived by four children: Lena Romano, John Pietrantuono, Biagio Pietrantuono, and Riccardo Pietrantuono, as well as nine grandchildren: Michael, Justin, and Alana Pietrantuono, Pasquale Romano, Marc, Matthew, and Daniele Pietro. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren: Mia, Briana, Guiseppe Romano, Liliana and Dylan Stroman, and Kayleigh Mauro.
Rosa immigrated with her husband, Claudio, and their four young children in 1970 to the South Norwalk area from Italy. She worked as a seamstress at Beldoch Inc. in Norwalk through the late 70′s and continued to raise her family as a homemaker and an avid gardener. Anyone who visited Rosa’s kitchen was treated to an authentic Italian meal made up of handcrafted pasta, home-canned tomato sauce or a pumpkin blossom fritata. She never took “no thank you” as an answer. Her spirited personality and infectious laugh will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her, especially her family.
The funeral arrangements will be held by the Collins Funeral Home, located at 92 East Avenue, Norwalk, CT. Calling hours will be 9-11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 followed immediately by a Christian burial at St. John’s and St. Mary’s Cemetery, 223 Richards Avenue, Norwalk, CT.
