Gary L. Purcell, 67, husband of Theresa Pellagrino Purcell of Norwalk, passed away peacefully of pancreatic cancer on Monday, June 12, 2017.
Born in Stamford on July 7, 1949, he was the son of the late Joseph and Louise Purcell.
He was self-employed for 15 years as a painter and then worked for Polycast/PolyOne of Stamford for 31 years. A 31 year resident of Norwalk, Gary enjoyed gardening and was a perfectionist at everything he did.
In addition to his wife Theresa, Gary is survived by his daughters Jacqueline and Jennifer Garcia and Jeanette Garcia and her fiancé Eric Alicea. He will be remembered as a great dad. He is also survived by his sisters Sandra Valenti and Linda Enright, and his brother Jay Purcell.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 16, at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 203 East Avenue, Norwalk. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, 223 Richards Avenue, Norwalk.
Friends may call on Thursday, June 15, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk.
