Rita Squires Jaeger, a beautiful, intelligent and loving woman, passed away this past Saturday, October 1, 2016 at the age of 69.
Rita and her husband and best friend Stephen just celebrated their 49th anniversary. He loved her very much as did sons Stephen and Thomas and daughter Susan. Rita was born in Philadelphia and subsequently moved with her family to Long Island, NY where she met her husband. During her school years she developed a love of painting and art history which led to a successful career in interior decorating and design. She bought and ran her own decorating and home design business in 1986 and ran it successfully for ten years before transitioning to the provision of consulting services to her many clients in not only decorating and design but home construction. She continued in this effort until her illness struck in May, 2016.
Rita lived in Sanibel, FL and also maintained a residence in Norwalk, CT. In addition to her husband and three children and their spouses she is survived by eight wonderful grandchildren, her sister Patricia, who provided loving care during her illness, three brothers, Bill, Paul and Tom and a younger sister. During her life, and particularly during her illness, she had the continuous support of many dear friends.
