Elizabeth “Betty” Marie Forsberg, 87, of Norwalk CT transitioned peacefully on February 20th, 2020 at Westport Rehabilitation Complex. She was surrounded by loved ones.
She was born in Danbury, CT on March, 3 1932 to Joseph and Helen (Czika) Siergiej. She graduated from Danbury High School and attended Danbury State Teachers College.
She proudly taught 4th and 5th grade at Tokeneke Elementary School and was also an aide at Brien McMahon High School in Norwalk. She adored teaching and frequently told stories of her “old teaching days.” Betty was known for her impeccable style, her love of ice cream sundaes and her sweet childlike nature.
She was predeceased by her loyal husband, Harold Forsberg and brother Edward Seirgiej. She leaves behind her devoted son Kevin Forsberg, his wife Coleen Hayes and daughter Kathleen Forsberg of Ocala Fl. Two nephews Ed (Joanne) and John (Fern) Siergiej and many great nieces and nephews.
We would like to thank all of the staff at Westport Rehabilitation Complex, Vitas Hospice and Visiting Angels of Fairfield for the individualized love and attention they showed to Betty and to her family.
