Antoinette M. Camarota, 103, wife of the late Arthur Camarota, passed peacefully on May 26, 2016, in her home in Norwalk, CT.
Born September 20, 1912, in Norwalk, CT, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Josephine Amato.
Aside from being a homemaker, Antoinette was involved in various organizations through St. Joseph church for over 53 years, dedicating her time to the Children of Mary Altar Society, various fundraisers, and decorating the altar.
Antoinette was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved her family more than anything and always put them first. She is survived by her children Diana and her husband Richard Zakhar of Norwalk, CT and Vincent Camarota and his wife Kathy of Brookfield, CT; 6 grandchildren, Vincent Camarota and his wife Jennifer of Trumbull, Timothy Camarota and his wife Ilona of Shelton, Sherri Camarota of Waterbury, Kimberly and her husband Brian Troccolo, of Southington, Jason Zakhar and his wife Jacki of Norwalk, Matthew Camarota and his wife Lindsey of North Port, Florida; 4 great-grandchildren Halle Camarota, Gia Camarota, Dominic and Brianna Troccolo; sister-in-law Mary Amato; She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband Arthur, she was predeceased by her siblings Arthur, James, and Ralph Amato, Anna Connelly, Frances Manzi, Mary Pellegrino, and Faye Shepherd.
Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, June 1, at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 2, at 10:00am in St. Joseph Church, 85 South Main Street, Norwalk. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, 223 Richards Ave, Norwalk.
