Lillian Shapiro, 96 died on November 24. Lillian was born in Norwalk and lived there until 2016, when she moved to The Watermark in Bridgeport. She was the last surviving offspring of Joseph and Anna Shapiro. She was a graduate of Norwalk High School and worked at Yankee Metal and the Denver Mint.
She was preceded in death by her sisters Mildred Shapiro Pockell, Ruth, and Betty Shapiro and her brothers Leonard and Morris Shapiro. Lillian is survived by David and Naomi Pockell, Michael and Shelley Shapiro, Judy and Harry Andrew and Neil Shapiro and Rhonda Imhoff, her nieces and nephews, as well as their children and grandchildren.
Lily read the New York Times every day, even though she was troubled by much of the news. She loved to hear about how the rest of the family was doing and enjoyed hearing tales of her great nieces and nephews.
