Dominic A. Cundari

Dominic A. Cundari, age 87,  who was predeceased by his wife Rosemarie A. Dattalo Cundari, of Norwalk, Ct. died November 8, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born June 28, 1931, Norwalk, Ct, he was the son of the late Rocco A. Cundari Sr. and Theresa Violi Cundari.

Mr. Cundari attended Norwalk Public schools, and then served in the US Navy during the Korean war aboard the USS Sabine.  He then worked at O’Brien press and for the US Postal service as a mail carrier.  He went on to work as a pressman at the Norwalk Hour where he retired after 30 plus years.  With his four brothers, he played on numerous softball teams including O’Brien Press where they won five city championships.  He also enjoyed bowling with them on the team Brothers5.

Dominic was a Life member of the South Norwalk Boat club, former member of the Appian, Ferris Hill and Piedmont clubs.  He was elected to the Norwalk Old Timers club in 1989.  Dominic got involved in theatre and performed for Curtain Call of Stamford and Crystal Theater in Norwalk.

He is survived by his son Rocco W. and his wife Rosanne and daughter Rosemary Holomakoff and her husband George, all of Norwalk; 2 grandchildren, Samantha and Christopher Holomakoff.  He is also survived by his sisters Theresa Burnham of NJ and Virginia Falcone of CT.  He was predeceased by brothers and sisters, Frances Piro, Ann Gamberdella, Charles A. Cundari, Rocco A. Cundari Jr., Mary Martin, James V. Cundari, Margaret Howald, and Louis Cundari Sr.  He is also survived by brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday November 13th and Wednesday November 14th from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk, Ct.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday November 15th at 10:00 am in St. Joseph’s Church, 85 South Main Street, Norwalk, CT.  Interment with full military honors will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, 223 Richards Avenue, Norwalk, CT.
