Agostino Rivieccio, 93 years old, husband of Nicoletta DiSalvatore, passed away in Norwalk, CT, om August 11, 2018.
Agostino was born October 3rd, 1924, on the island of Ponza, Italy. He was the son of Biagio Rivieccio and Concetta Iodice.
He loved the sea and worked as a ships engine mechanic for most of his life in Italy. In 1966 he and Nicoletta immigrated to the United States bringing their four children Biagio, Mina, Giuseppe, and Anna to pursue better opportunities for his family.
Agostino is survived by his loving wife of 70 years Nicoletta, his children: Biagio, Mina and her husband Amedeo, Giuseppe, and Anna and her husband Guillermo; grandchildren Alex, Luca, Marco, Laura, Samuel, Nicolas, Anna Maria, Steven, Lea, and Nicole. He is also survived by his sister Gelsomina, numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews both in the US and in Italy.
Agostino was predeceased by a son Biagio, who passed away as an infant, grandson Luigi (Memo), sister Marietta, and brothers Leonardo and Giuseppe.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 17, at 10:00 AM at St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Avenue, Norwalk. Entombment will follow in St. John Cemetery, 223 Richards Avenue, Norwalk.
Friends may call Thursday, August 16, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk.
