Hedwig Mildred Anderson, 104, wife of the late Arnold Anderson of Bristol CT, passed away on May 7, 2018 in Norwalk CT.
Born in Collinsville, CT on September 30, 1913, she was the daughter of Victor and Stephanie Klimovitch. Hedy was a member of the first graduating class of Central Connecticut State University, taught English in elementary schools in Bristol, CT and was an active and faithful member of St. Stanislaus Church in Bristol and Assumption Parish in Westport, CT.
She was an independent woman before it was popular, President of her College graduating class, President of her debate team and recently President of the Resident Council at Notre Dame. She is survived by her daughter Elaine Greene and her husband William of Westport, CT, and her son Arnold (Andy) Anderson and Elizabeth Larsen of Lebanon, New Hampshire, her son-in-law Alan Burman and MJ Williard of Arlington, Virginia; six grandchildren, William Greene, Zoe Sherlick, Sean Greene, Erin Greene, Rebecca Anderson and Moira Dow; 7 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, her daughter, Christine Burman of Arlington, Virginia, predeceased her.
Friends may call at the Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk, CT on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 AM in Assumption Church, 33 Riverside Avenue, Westport, CT. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Bristol at a later time.
