Nicholas J. Matthews, 54, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2018.
Born September 10, 1963, in Stamford, Connecticut, he is predeceased by his parents, John J. Matthews and Diane Morrone.
After attending high school in Stamford, he spent some years in trade school. For 15 years, Nicholas was the proud business owner of “Nick’s Handy Service”. Prior to this, he was employed by Caruso’s Heating & Plumbing, as well as by Casey’s Sheet Metal of Norwalk, as a plumber. During his free time he enjoyed fishing, working on his variety of cars, being around friends and would always be found with his beloved dogs by his side.
He is survived by his ex-spouse and forever friend, Dawn Matthews, and their daughter, Lana Rose Matthews of Norwalk. He is also survived by his two sisters, Wendy Murphy of Weston, CT & Suzette Carriero of Naples, FL; and by 5 nieces and nephews.
Friends and family can attend his wake, which will be held Thursday, March 22, from 5-8 PM at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk, CT. His mass will be held Friday, March 23, at 10 AM in St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Ave., Norwalk, CT. Interment will be private.
