Henry J. Robidas, Sr., 84, of New Fairfield, formerly of Norwalk, died Tuesday [Jan. 16, 2018] peacefully at home. He was the husband of Angelina Testa Robidas.
Born in Norwalk, August 20, 1934, son of the late Arthur J. and Eva Gelinas Robidas, he was a 1952 graduate of Norwalk High School. Upon graduation he joined the U. S. Navy, and served aboard the aircraft carrier, USS Wasp during the Korean War. Returning to civilian life Mr. Robidas became an electrician and was a proud member of the I. B. E. W. Local 488. He worked for several firms over his career including L. H. Gault, Inc. and the Bartoli Electric Company. Mr. Robidas was a member of the U. S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla 72, before relocating to New Fairfield fifteen years ago.
In Addition to his wife survivors include a daughter; Sandra Gausch, and husband Eric, of Merrimack, New Hampshire, two sons; Henry J. Robidas, Jr., of Canton and Bryan Robidas and wife Terri, of New Fairfield, six grandchildren; Maxwell and Ian Gausch, Edna and Yurah Robidas, Jordan and Joshua Robidas, a sister; Irene Greco, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, January 19th, at 11;00 A. M. in St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Avenue, Norwalk. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery [ Richards Avenue, Norwalk] with Military Honors.
