Parthena (Hiotis) Papadopoulos, 90, wife of the late Elias Papadopoulos of Norwalk, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2017 peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born September 15, 1926 in Ryakio Kozanis, Greece she immigrated to the United States in 1965 with her husband and three children. Mrs. Papadopoulos worked at Norwalk Hospital for over 25 years and made many friends there. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting and making Greek food for her family.
Her legacy lives on in her 3 children, 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Her daughters Helen Demetriades and her husband Theologos, Toula Kathrakis and her husband George and her son Steve Papadopoulos and his wife Christine. Also her grandchildren Caron Demetriades, Irene Caldwell, Dina Athanasoulis, Chris Kathrakis, Lou Kathrakis, John Papadopoulos, Kristina Faraday and Nicholas Papadopoulos.
Friends may call Friday, June 2 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk. A service will be held Saturday at 9:00 AM in the St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Norwalk.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the St. George Greek Orthodox Church.
