Martha Diana Vorperian (Nee: Saradjian) of Norwalk, CT, formerly of Scarsdale, NY, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017 at her home in Norwalk. She was 87. Born January 17, 1930 in Tientsin, China, she was the daughter of Nerses and Zarouhi Saradjian.
Mrs. Vorperian graduated Stamford High School, Class of 1947 and attended Bridgeport University. She then worked as a Phone Operator for Southern New England Bell and married Harry G. Vorperian.
She was a long-time member of Hitchcock Presbyterian Church in Scarsdale, NY. There she served as a deacon and sang in the choir. She was also a loving mother and homemaker.
Mrs. Vorperian is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Harry, her two sons John (Milder) of White Plains, NY and Richard (Kate) of Somers, NY, and by her step-grandson Juan of White Plains, NY. She is also survived by her brothers John Saradjian of Stamford, CT and Martin Saradjian (Marge) of Lexington, MA and by two nephews.
Friends may call on Saturday from 1:00-4:00 PM at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk, CT. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
