Joseph Silvia, 87, husband of Zulmira Silvia of Norwalk, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at Norwalk Hospital.
Born in Portugal on October 10, 1929, he was the son of the late Joao and Maria Silvia.
Joseph was a proud Army veteran and grandfather. His passion was for gardening and wine making. Joseph was a very creative and generous man.
In addition to his wife, Zulmira, Joseph is survived by four children MaryAnn, David, Linda (Tim) and Jessica (Doug), and by six grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother Joao Da Silva and a sister Joaquina Salgueiro Celestino of Portugal.
Friends may call Wednesday, April 5, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 6, at 10:00 AM at St. Philip Church, 1 Father Conlon Place, Norwalk. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery, 223 Richards Avenue, Norwalk.
