Randy Thomas Sci, our son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, friend, passed away suddenly, but peacefully yesterday in his sleep, at his home in Norwalk. He was 49 years old.

Randy was born and raised in Norwalk, and attended Kendall, Ponus Ridge, and Brien McMahon schools. He was a gifted musician, with a special ability to play by ear, taking after his grandfather Rene Guimond. However Randy took it a step further, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in music from Five Towns College on Long Island.

He played in many bands over the years, but was happiest and most comfortable playing with his cousin Roger Guimond. Randy struggled with his cousin’s death two years ago, and missed him greatly ever since.

Randy also had a God given gift to teach music. He was especially good at sharing his talent with children, and worked for many years at the Stepping Stones Museum for Children in Norwalk.

Randy will be missed greatly by his family including his parents Claire and Tom, older brother Chris of Boston, and younger brother Michael and his wife Jacqui from Atlanta, 4 nieces and nephews; Timothy and Victoria Sci of Cape Cod, MA, and Isabella and Joseph Sci of Atlanta, GA.

He is also survived by his girlfriend Lori Rukin and their two rescue cats; Cabo, and Chewy.

He is pre-deceased by his grandparents Joseph and Angelina Sci, Rene and Rose Guimond, and two cousins; Roger, and Raymond Guimond.

Calling hours will be on Monday from 4:00-7:00 PM at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk with a ceremony beginning at 7:00 PM. Burial will be private.
